About Jeremy

“They all agreed he was as wise as serpents, though perhaps not as innocent as doves.”

My Story

My young life was one slow trek up the West Coast. Born in Modesto, California in the late ‘70s, I then lived in Portland, Oregon, Tacoma and Lynden, Washington. I even went to college over the border in British Columbia, and accidentally graduated! Nothing against polar bears, but at that point I looked at a map and panicked. The North Pole didn’t seem like a great place to end up.

So I went to Washington, DC for seven years and began to make something of myself. I wrote serious books on hypocrisy, the vice presidents, and William F. Buckley; and was even the recognized ghostwriter of former Maryland governor Marvin Mandel’s memoirs.

I also published articles prolifically, in so many publications that I lost count. The number is over 1,000 at this point. Just how much over is anyone’s guess. I currently write a transportation and infrastructure column most weeks for the Washington Examiner magazine, for instance.

You might say that I was a success, but there was something huge missing. When I moved to DC, I stopped doing many of the things that used to make life worth living, like collecting comic books.

I moved back to Washington state and started doing fun things again. I flew kites, went to Bellingham Bells baseball games, learned to shoot pool, and of course dove back into comic books.

Eventually, the creative itch became so overwhelming that it simply had to be scratched. I started writing comic books and so far have put out Movie Men with many more comics waiting in the wings. That experience put me in touch with a huge group of artists, which led me to also start writing children’s books.

My goal is to write books for children to read proudly and for adults to read behind more serious literature, perhaps even one of my older books.

I currently live in Lynden with my wife Angela and our young daughter and son. You cannot see Canada from our house, because of a very large hedge.
